No Papers
Christmas Day
Monday, 25 December 2017
The British press does not print on Christmas Day. There were no front pages published on Monday, 25 December 2017, so there was nothing to measure and this day has no colours.
It is the one date in the year that is reliably blank. Boxing Day editions appear as normal, and so do the papers of Christmas Eve; only the 25th is missing, every year, by a convention far older than this project.
One title does answer: The Independent has been digital-only since 2016 and so has a front page every day of the year, Christmas included. A single paper is too few to stand for the press as a whole, so no reading was recorded.
